Akaroa Peninsula - 25.1.2013

On the 25th of january I went on spontanious trip to the akaroa peninsula, which is near christchurch. In my company were 3 girls from my hostel. Two of them had rented a campervan for the next 2 weeks, and akaroa was going to be their first destination. So I spontaniously decided to come with them for a small one day trip :).

The trip was really nice, akaroa is like a small lagoon between the mountains. Usually boat trips and stuff like that are possible here were you can watch dolphins or even go swimming with them. We did not do any of these things because the others found the trips to expensive and I have already done the dolphinswimming in kaikoura. For the dinner we went to a fish n chips restaurant, which was directly at the lake and very cheap. I had some hot chips and onion rings for 6 nz$.

In that fish n chips shop we met an old local man who told us that he had rented a van in the past and would never ever sleep in such a van again. He seemed to come to this fish n chips shop often. After dinner we went back to the van and played some cards while the sunset was happening. We slept in the van on a parksite at the lake, which was for free :). On the next day I returned to christchurch were I prepared my self a bit for my flight to fiji island which would be on the 27th of january.
