Waipapa Point - 5.1.2013

After my return to Invercargrill on the 4th of January, on the 5th of January 2013 we went to a place called Waipapa Point, which is at the South East coast of New Zealand. Usually Sea Lions can be seen here.
I*ve got the feeling that almost all the places, which have the word "Point" in their name are light houses.
I also have the feeling that often wild animals can be seen near the lighthouses. I suppose they use the lighthouses for orientation - especially after sunset.

As i said usually sea lions can be seen at this lighthouse. But this day we were really unlucky. There was not a single sea lion. They were not even swimming around in the sea. The picture down below shows the beach where they usually can be seen. But at this day, the complete beach was empty. If you can spot any sea lions on this picture, please tell me :-? . It's sometimes hard to see these animals, this is what i experienced with the seals, because their fur has almost the same color like the rocks they sit on.

In the evening of the 5th of January we drove back to Queenstown, where i am planning to stay few days.
On the 6th of January i was sitting at the Peterpans travel agency almost half the day in order to update this blog. The next days i want to go to Dunedin were albatrosses and yellow eyed penguins can be seen.
